Yoga and Self Massage: September 17-23
with Adam

Spend a week on Retreat to release tension, relax and recharge. Combine classical Hatha Yoga morning warming asana with gentler afternoon Yoga, self-massage on rollers/balls, meditation and optional Thai massage from Adam.

Our modern lives, analysing, fixing, rushing, stressing, deadlines, can create a crazy stuffed up sensation in your mind, and tension in your body. Yoga practice, with its particular breathing and mental approach clears the mind, leaving you refreshed and feeling great. This retreat offers you a week to release tension in body and mind, enjoying a deep sense of relaxation and learning techniques that can help you in daily life.

Adam will help you to discover that Yoga not just an exercise class but also 3000 years of collected wisdom for living a healthy and balanced life free from stress. Self-massage can unlock the parts of your body you find hard to release with stretching, and help with muscular aches and pains. Release your weight into balls and rollers and let your tension melt away. If you learn to massage your own body, then you can get massage any time you need it. People do the exercise because in 5 minutes they make a real difference to their health (read more).

The small-group environment allows flexibility for each person to adapt the programme to their needs. For a total chill-out, take plenty of time for sitting, reading, swimming and gentle walks. For a deeper retreat, join Adam in optional meditation and Yoga philosophy discussions. If you need specific work on an injury or tight area, take advantage of therapeutic massage (extra charge), and personalised variations in the afternoon classes.

Key ingredients for releasing your tension:

• Live a sustainable, eco-friendly life in the middle of nature, far from crowds and the internet

• Varied morning Hatha Yoga practice which is energetic, but moderate-paced to allow time to offer options for everyone to get an appropriate challenge and for beginners to find their way

• Afternoon practice, slow and relaxing, with self-massage: release your weight into balls and rollers and let your tension melt away

• Eat locally-grown nutritious and delicious food.

Optional extra spice, depending on individual and group preferences:

• Work with Adam to develop a self-care program to integrate into your daily life

• Thai massage (€40/hour) which can be therapeutic and link with the individual program

• Early-morning and late-evening silent group meditation (guidance available)

• Yoga philosophy teaching and discussion

• Mindful walks and Yoga asana in water (weather permitting)

• Partner massage and stretching Suitable for all levels, no previous experience required.

This retreat is suitable for beginners as well as those who wish to dive more deeply into their yoga and meditation practice.

So much more than a regular yoga retreat, this place offers a unique chance to delve into the natural elements and experience a new way of living. Hidden away in a quiet valley, we were delighted to stay with Fiona and her wonderful family as we relaxed, explored the beautiful spaces in and around the property, and went deeper into our yoga practice twice a day. The yurt accommodation and food were amazing. We really felt so nourished and well looked after the entire time. We could not recommend this enough. - Thank you so much for the wonderful retreat. I feel inspired and reenergized after a week full of yoga and meditation, yummy food and amazing people. It was a good balance between yoga and free time. There was enough time to relax, to get inspired by the many yoga books available and to have a hike to and a swim in the reservoir. I loved the yoga and meditation classes, my body is stronger, softer and my mind more clear and calm then before. Fiona and Nuno are amazing hosts, taking care of the group and involve you into their ecological way of living. This was exactly what I was looking for. The hot tube at the last evening was a great experience. Singing songs around the campfire enjoying a glass of local wine made this evening even more memorable. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing and inspiring week. I met some really interesting and genuine people, making the stay really worthwhile, fun and sincere. Everyone was so friendly, what a wonderful group of people. Your settings are beautiful and rustic and simple, and the reservoir is stunning! Plus watching the sun rise from the top of the hill is a great way to start the day. The relaxed atmosphere definitely added to the good mood of the place.
