Stretch and relax your body with yoga, allow the practice of asana (yoga postures) to release tension and restriction, allowing the natural flow of energy to circulate and nourish muscles and joints. Pranayama (breathing) and meditation will help to calm the nervous system and busy minds, creating a chance for you to sink deep into stillness, space and quiet. Indulge and enjoy a treatment with Aoife, choosing from a relaxing massage, Reiki or reflexology. Absorb the knowledge and information in the workshops about herbs and nutrition, specifically for women's health. Take home new recipes and knowledge about herbs to support your specific needs at this time. Make time and space for reflection. Think about intention, make note of your thoughts, dreams or insights. Often when we step away from our everyday life, we open up space for inspiration and ideas.

Women's lives are often too hectic because we are busy with work, children, family and social committments. Our minds also become busy, remembering things, planning and making lists. We can start to feel overloaded as we negotiate our way at top speed on our smart phones through the plans for each day, and each week, dropping in and out of each others lives through social media and balancing the pressures of our careers and family with our true selves.

Learning techniques and methods of self care can help us to cope with life. Instead of just surviving, we can learn to thrive and embrace our true creativity. Retreating into a natural environment can encourage this process, and spending time in a simple environment, indulging ourselves with daily yoga practice, simple breath work and meditation can all assist in this process.

We can also learn to further support ourselves and our lives with the use of herbs and nutrition. Especially as we move through the different phases of a woman's life; where our bodies encounter so much transformation and change. Sara Rooney will be sharing her wisdom on herbs and health, and ways to support women's health and well being. View Sara's website

This retreat is designed to gently address these ideas, allowing women time to step away from everyday life and make some space to focus on well being and perhaps initiate some longer lasting lifestyle changes. We all need time out to take care of ourselves, so that we are better able to take care of others in our lives.

If we can cultivate the ability to drop into moments of awareness, enjoying the little things, we can tap into a deep resource of bliss.

All the food is prepared daily from fresh (organic where possible) ingredients and is wholesome and tasty. Guests can enjoy the surrounding location, forest, traditional Portuguese village, walking tracks and the reservoir 20 minutes walk away for swimming. (weather permitting) On the final evening guests will enjoy some Portuguese wine with dinner, bonfire, star gazing and a dip in our wood fired hot tub.

8.00am - Morning Yoga - Pranayama, asana and silent meditation

10.00 - Breakfast

11.00 - Morning workshops (herbs, nutrition)

2pm - Lunch

3.30pm - Afternoon, workshops or treatment time, walks or swimming

5.30 - 7pm - Afternoon yoga, meditation, yoga nidra (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)

- The Nourish in Nature retreat was an incredible experience. It was not only relaxing and energising, but also equipped me with so much information and lots of ideas for how to integrate food, herbs and yoga into my life to help feel more balanced. 6 months on I am regularly using the things I learned during the retreat in my daily life. Fiona, Sara and Aoife all show a lot of care and intuition within the areas they practise and paid attention to everyone on the retreat individually, so that each person took away something special to them. I definitely recommend this retreat to anyone looking for something a little more insightful and holistic than the usual yoga holiday - .

- I spent 5 days/6 nights on the Nourish in Nature retreat for Women which included; 2 hour morning yoga and short meditation sessions with Fiona, focusing on one of the 5 elements each morning (earth, water, fire, air and space). Following this was a delicious breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit (displayed beautifully), porridge and toast. This was followed by an informative workshop with Sara, the herbalist who taught us how to recognise certain herbs and how they can help to support different elements of women's health. Each day we made something different including a nourishing face oil, maca balls and turmeric latte. After this we had lunch then had some free time to do as we wished, such as go to the local village, chill in a hammock or visit the reservoir (which we did with Sara on the last day with a picnic). Evening yoga happened 3 times during the week and consisted of a gentle practice and twice yoga nidra (my first introduction). During the middle of the week, Aoife gave us a complimentary massage, and I cannot praise her enough - she worked wonders with a hip issue that I have had for many years. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before as she performed a mixture of advanced clinical based massage, myofascia release and structural integration. Needless to say I went back for a 2nd private session! This was my first retreat and such a wonderful experience. Thoroughly recommended - Hannah

- So much more than a regular yoga retreat, this place offers a unique chance to delve into the natural elements and experience a new way of living. The yurt accommodation and food were amazing.
